Tourism in Nepal
Bunjee Jumping
The
ultimate thrill of a Bungee jump can be experienced in Nepal at perhaps the
best site in the world. Nepal's first bungee jumping site is situated Eastern part of Nepal on 160m over the wild Bhote Koshi river, and
located close to the Nepal-Tibet border, a three-hour bus ride from Kathmandu.
The Bunjee jump is designed by one of New Zealand's leading bungee
consultants, and it is operated by some of the most experienced jump masters in
the business. It's mishap-proof. The agency takes safety "very, very
seriously".
The Bridge : Swiss designed,
specially for bungee jumping with a 4x safety factor. The bridge has a loading
factor of 250kg per running meter. This means that the bridge will hold 250 x
166 = 41,500kg or 4.5 tones And those are Swiss measurements! * Over 6000
meters of steel wire was used to build the bridge * Longest suspension bridge
in Nepal * The bridge joins two sides of a great valley. Before its
construction, locals walked five hours to cross this river gorge

Rafting
& Kayaking in Nepal
Rafting, Kayaking, Cannoning The fact
that you want to raft down Nepal's challenging rivers means that you have long
ago graduated from the nursery school of "Row, row, row your boat".
The many 'raftable' rivers in Nepal meander between canyons, villages, and
virgin forests, wildlife, like needle through thread, weaving the country's
rich tapestry of ethno-culture and bio-diversity. Originating in the bowels of
the Himalayas, these rivers flow across the length and breadth of Nepal and
neighboring India, before emptying mostly into the Bay of Bengal.
Rafting is inarguably the best way of
exploring Arcadian Nepal. The waters offer something to everybody: from grade
5-5+ rivers with many raging white water rapids for the brave and the
adventurous, to grade 2-3 rivers with a few rapids for the laid-back type. The
beautiful thing is that just about anybody, whether old or very young, can
raft. Moreover, it can either be a two-week trip or a 2-3 day trip-you decide.
It involves teamwork with the river
runner barking instructions from his perch on the aft. You can either do
participatory rafting, where you and your group are provided with a runner and
barebones staff support, or a "luxury safari style" trip where a full
team of staff is provided to address your group's every need and want. Mind
you, rafting is not the only way to travel downstream. A few companies offer
inflatable kayaks, or fiberglass kayaks for hire.
An extreme sport popular in Europe,
Canoeing is now available in Nepal. Canoeing gives you the freedom to explore
some of the most ruggedly beautiful, yet forbidden places in the world.
Jungle Safari
Jungle
safari is the adventurous journey that gives chance to the adventure seekers to
explore the unexplored trails and un-spoilt natural horizons of the forests. In
the jungle safari you can explore the national parks and wildlife sanctuaries
as well as protective reserves. Along with the walking or hiking, you also have
the option to explore the forest via a jeep or on an elephant or even on a
horse drive to view wild animals in their natural habitat. Jungle safari is the
best option to experience the nature’s wilderness and beauty.
Nepal
is a haven to more than 30 species of large animals, 180 species of mammals and
more than 800 species of the birds. In Nepal you find the rare wild animals
like rhinoceros, tiger, crocodile, snow leopard, red panda, Himalayan black
bear, striped hyena, sambar, chital, sloth bear, langur etc and birds like
Danfee, peafowl, red jungle fowl, kingfishers, flycatchers etc. Jungle safari
in Nepal gives you the opportunity to explore the various types of rare wild
animals and birds as well as the various types of the flora and fauna. Jungle
safari in Nepal provides the excellent view of the rare wildlife. During the
Jungle safari you also enjoy other activities like canoeing, nature walks, bird
watching, excursions, and visit to an ethnic village etc. The best and famous
places for the jungle safari in Nepal are Chitwan National park, Bardia
national park, Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve Sukla phanta wild life reserve etc.
Mountain
Flight In Nepal
offers
daily Mountain flight through various domestic airlines; take-off from
Kathmandu airport in the early morning for an hour’s worth of spectacular
mountains scenery. Mountain flight is suitable for all categories of traveler.
For those who are restricted by time from going trekking can get panoramic view
of the Himalayas in just an hour. As the aircraft lifts up and heads towards
the east, passengers don’t have to wait too long to find out what is in store
for them. There they are – the mountains, as they always have been. First to
their far left visitors see Gosaithan, also called Shisha Pangma, Standing at the
majestic height of 8,013 m. Immediately to the right of Gosaithan, there
appears Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m), a mountain that looks like the number 8 lying
down and covered with snow. To the right of Dorje Lakpa is Phurbi-Ghyachu,
which looms over the Kathmandu Valley.
As the plane moves along, the mountains come closer and closer. Next on the vision is Choba-Bhamare, the smallest one of the lot at 5,933 m but singularly stubborn as it has never been climbed. Then appears the mountain that is not only prominent in sight but also in spiritually – Gauri-Shankar. Lord Shiva and his consort Gauri are said to protect this mountain, at the proud height of 7,134 m and the summit had a history of unsuccessful attempts till 1979. Gauri-Shankar is sharp and very conspicuous during the mountain flight. As the plane moves towards the land of the rising sun, the eastern Himalaya a succession of glorious mountains follow. Melungtse, a Plateau – like mountain stretches up to 7,023 m, Chugimago at 6,297 m is still a virgin, waiting to be climbed. At 6,956 m, Numbur mountain resembles a breast, maternal source in the sky providing pure milk to the Shepas of the Solu Khumbu. Next is Karyolung, an intensely white mountain that at 6,511 m gleams with the rising sun. Cho-Oyu is the eighth highest mountain in the world. Reaching a height of 8,201 m, it appears stunningly beautiful from the aircraft.
Next on the menu is Gyanchungkang, at a majestic height of 7,952 m, considered an extremely difficult climb. To the right of Gyanchungkang is Pumori (7,161m). As passengers get closer to Everest. there's Nuptse (7,855 m), which means West Peak, signifying its direction from Everest. Finally, there’s Everest (8,848m) itself, known as Sagarmatha by the Nepalese and Chomolungma by the Tibetans. Much has already been written about Everest, but to actually witness it face to face during a mountain flight is something else. Even while it looms therein front of the eyes, it remains and enigma, this highest spot on earth.

Maditation
It’s
a great pleasure for us, that we are able offer this pilgrimage Tour together
with a meditation program, which will be organized by our highly educated,
experienced Buddhist Meditation-teacher. He will offer you to meditate with
instructions, which will also refer to the area, for about three hours a day.
In addition he will pass you on valuable information about Buddhism in general,
which you will be able to use in daily life, even if you are not a confessed
Buddhist. The places where the meditations take place will differ according to
the theme of instructions, but we will meditate in the open nature as much as
possible. The participation is voluntarily, but you should mention, that the
meditations follow a particular structure, like it is described in the ancient
Tibetan scriptures (lam rim). The duration and intensity of the meditation
sessions our guide will co-ordinate with you personally at the beginning of the
tour. Of course the meditation instructor will also be available for individual
talks and questions at any time. Since our meditation-guide will pay attention
to your personal needs at any time of the tour, we did the following outlines
without including the meditation-times. But you can reckon, to meditate or
listen to teachings for three times a day (morning, noon and evening), more or
less one hour each time. In addition you will get instructions, how you can
tackle with the meanings of the meditation while trekking or in the evenings.
In this sense the intensity of this combined ‘Trekking and Meditation’ Program
to a large extend depends also on yourself.
